Preview of Trading Time
The title, Trading Time, has a double meaning, alluding both to allocating the time to trade and to understanding the critical information regarding where you are in time when a trade is placed.
TFlow has become more evolved and additional studies have been applied to it. One of the major changes is the ability to aggregate the number of bid/asks, so that one TFlow bar can represent up to twenty changes in a quote. The aggregation of bars now make it easier to view whether buyers or sellers are dominant.
Downey's Volatility Time Bands study is the main concentration of the book. Focus has been placed on patterns and probabilities. Tests reveal critical information with regard to what can be expected on the day after certain patterns present themselves and the probablitiy of extremes being tested yet again.
Market Profile was born out of the need to distinguish between the short-, medium-, and long-term trader. Today, Market Profile theories extend to methods of scalping, day trading, structured plays, providing targets, placement of stops, the strength of the trend, and optimum points for where corrections should begin and trends should end. The beauty of Market Profile is that linking price, time and volume provides a clearer picture of the state of the market.
