Click to Enlarge ImageCQG continues leading the way in product innovation for professional traders. Version 7.6 introduces new features and improvements to enhance the trading experience, including linking windows and a more robust search capability in CQG News.

Check out the What's In It For You document or view our PowerPoint presentation to learn more on version 7.6.

Link Windows

Linking windows improves the efficiency of your workflow. This new feature allows, for example, linking the DOMTrader to a Chart and a Time & Sales window. Changing the symbol in the first display will change the symbol in all linked displays. Over a dozen different CQG windows are available for linking to each other, including:

  • All_Contracts
  • Charts
  • Custom Quote Board
  • DOMTrader
  • Enhanced Quote SpreadSheet
  • Last/Net Change
  • Market Watch
  • Options Graph
  • Options Window
  • Order Ticker
  • Order Ticket
  • Quote Board
  • Quote SpreadSheet
  • SnapQuote
  • Time & Sales
Spread Trading and Positions

Exchange-traded spread order routing is now available on the DOMTrader and Order Ticket for calendar, butterfly, pack, strip, bundle, and intercommodity spreads. The Orders and Positions window displays the spreads as a position, such as in the Eurodollars, long 1 EDAS3U7 (a three-month calendar spread) or as a synthetic position by legs, such as long 1 EDAU7 and short 1 EDAZ7.

Variable Tick Size

Variable tick sizes for those contracts that have a tick size that changes for the front month contract versus deferred delivery months will be added to the tick value field in the Contract Specification Window. For example, Eurodollar futures:
  • Regular 0.01 = $25.00 Months 11 thru 40
  • Half Tick 0.005 = $12.50 Months 2 thru 10
  • Quarter 0.0025 = $6.25 for nearest expiring month

Other contracts have a tick size that changes according to price level. For example, options on the e-mini S&P 500 have one tick size when the premium is under $5 and a different tick size when the premium is greater than $5 for the same contract.

Portfolio Time & Sales Display

The Portfolio Time and Sales window displays tick information for multiple contracts or markets in one display. Contracts are added from a predefined symbols group via a pop-up menu or new portfolios will be created. Trades that correspond to the selected symbols group are displayed. Trade information includes price, volume, aggressor side, and time of trade. Aggressor side is represented by green and red background colors in the TVol column. The threshold for traded volume is defined through the preferences.

CQG News

New preference settings for CQG news is now available. Choices range from seven different color schemes. Users can view headlines with a varying font size highlighting the most recent headlines and add the filter/search bar to the top of the display. Options include setting up the default view to show the story pane, timeline, and recent headlines in scroll mode and to highlight search words.

The new keyword search allows you to search based on the following criteria:

  • All of these words
  • Exact words
  • At least one of these words
  • None of these words
  • All of these codes
The codes are numbers Dow Jones assigns to the stories. Results are grouped by source or category with the option of selecting no grouping. Results are sorted by name, date/time, or source. In addition, a link to Dow Jones NewsPlus Energy Service Web site is provided on the News tool bar.

The Orders and Positions window comes with a complete new look. A new set of icons have been added to the account panel to identify different types of FCMs, accounts, and activities. The list of columns available to display on the order panel include:
