CQG Spreader

Now you can compete with firms that are spending millions
Click to EnlargeImagine trades that execute in less than a millisecond. Collocated servers at exchanges enable second leg modification and execution to occur in less than one millisecond. You benefit from ultra-low-latency trade execution and sophisticated order management.

Smart, proprietary algorithms manage working legs for you with maximum efficiency. First in, first out queue management by CQG Spreader Core servers ensures that competing orders don’t interfere with each other and prevents them from getting hung.

The integration of spread trading with other CQG tools maximizes efficiency and results. Create a collection of sophisticated spread expressions using QFormulas that can be entered on our trading applications simply by typing the QNumber. QFormulas are especially helpful when you want to vary the parameters of a single spread. Chart spreads, and then apply CQG’s studies and advanced analytics. Readily identify spreads and their legs on the DOMTrader through special color-coding.

CQG Spreader allows you to control your order from set up through execution. CQG provides several ways to minimize the impact of hung orders. In the coming months, CQG will add to this impressive list of order management options.

CQG Spreader is CQG’s solution for creating, trading, and managing multi-legged, intramarket, and cross-exchange spreads. You’ll wonder how you managed without it.

Market Profile Improvements
Click to EnlargeBenefit from the simplicity and expanded functionality of the Market Profile. Add multiple horizontal lines on the chart to create anchor points and boundaries. Customize the display. Choose different colors for TPO, volume, cursors, and markers making it possible for you to highlight the components important to you. The new MAX value in the cursor value box shows the price with the maximum number of TPOs for the selected row.

New Market Scan
Click to EnlargeCreate more complex and targeted market scans. Scan your portfolio for triggering conditions. Search for multiple conditions across any set of instruments in multiple time frames. Use your own custom conditions, custom portfolios, and any combination of CQG chart type and interval. CQG has added a three-tiered market scan. You now have the ability to incorporate Boolean logic into your scans. This powerful tool can be used to create a scan to run, for example, four conditions whereby if all pass, then two additional scans will be run. You could also run a scan to identify entry points, and trade those symbols that move to meet your criteria.

DOMTrader and Order Ticket Display Improvements
Click to EnlargeThe emphasis created by the new DOM colors, tab colors, and position line results in a faster and easier assessment of where the market is and the state of your portfolio. The faster access and larger price and volume font sizes allow you to better monitor orders and positions. Benefit from the enhanced visibility of the net change and volume.

Trading Summary
Quickly see daily trading activity by account or across all accounts on one window. CQG has added a Summary tab to the Orders and Positions window, providing brokers and traders an overview of the number of lots working and filled, average fill price, position, and OTE & P/L per symbol for each account. Filter by symbol, trade system, and date. Monitor your transaction ratios to avoid an exchange penalty.

Algorithmic Order Builder
Create your own algorithmic order types that reflect your trading strategies. Apply your technical skills for an edge in the markets, as orders are automatically executed based on your priorities. Use technologies that you are familiar with to create order types when you need them. CQG empowers traders to create their own order types with their own tools in their own time using the Algorithmic Order Builder. Create the order type using the CQG API, and then place orders using these types in CQG IC. To help you get started, CQG provides two order types: Smart Icebergs and Time Weighted Average Price (TWAP).

Market Profile Value Area (MPVA) Expanded
Click to EnlargeIncorporate the Market Profile into any chart, thereby clearly seeing the value areas and points of control over time. Monitor change for the day or for a dynamic, intraday timeframe. Use it in conjunction with standard or custom studies and conditions.

New Volume Profile Study
Analyze the state of the market more readily from a single chart. CQG allows you to incorporate the traded volume at each price directly into a CQG Chart. Adding this volume overlay to your charts helps you identify support and resistance levels as well as points of control. Access the study on all chart types, including CVB and TFlow®. You also maximize
screen space.

Volume on the Spread Matrix and Spread Pyramid
Click to EnlargeAt any time, view daily traded volume across the entire matrix. This improved version of the Spread Matrix and Spread Pyramid displays volume for each exchange-traded spread as graphic, numeric, or both. Also view both implied and explicit volume for exchange-traded spreads. CQG has introduced DOM volume to the matrices. The ratio of implied to explicit is indicated
by shading.

Additional Enhancements:

  • CQG News window: Choose from either a dark or light theme on the updated CQG News window. Page up and down buttons have been added to the story list, so that you can scroll a group of stories at one time. A Dow Jones Global Markets news button has also been added to the CQG News window toolbar.
  • Updated Values: Better monitor your trading and analytics by selecting the following values on the Custom Quote Board, Enhanced Quote SpreadSheet, or Quote SpreadSheet:
    • FilledBuyOrders: The sum of volume filled buy orders for selected symbol and account
    • FilledSellOrders: The sum of volume filled sell orders for selected symbol and account
  • Labels and Values chart preferences: Choose whether to calculate the last price or net change by last trade, settle, or by last quote (trade, bid, or ask).
  • Keyboard entries: Benefit from the updated keyboard entries, which default to capital letters. For example, when you enter formulas on the Define User Formulas window, the system automatically defaults to capital letters, making it much easier for you to enter formulas.
  • Trading: Track orders and positions without having any trading tools open. Configure notification preferences so that the Order Ticket or DOMTrader temporarily change color when an order is filled or partially filled. The Orders and Positions preferences now allow you to hide the Orders or the Account Summary panels.
