Order Ticker

See a fully documented illustration of the CQG Order TickerCQG Integrated Client version 7.5 introduces a new analysis tool utilizing today's market transparency of electronically traded markets.  The Order Ticker combines the old with the new, displaying orders entered, canceled, modified, and executed in a format similar to the old stock market tickers.  Traders can view other traders actions in the exchanges order book at the inside market and, depending on the exchange, up to ten price levels away.

The Order Ticker displays:

  • Orders entering the market
  • Orders being pulled from the market
  • Filled orders
  • Order  price changes

The innovative design illustrates market aggression, direction, and depth. Depth of market data is also presented to the right of the price scale. Individual order information scrolls across the ticker while borders and arrows reflect the up and down movement of the inside market.

Order Ticker Preferences allow traders to customize order quantity viewed, specify the trade volume viewed, and add time shading to emphasize key information.

CQG’s new Order Ticker offers traders a closer look at real-time orders and trade activity in the DOM for a specific contract. It effectively displays inside market activity traders received on the floor to support successful trading decisions.

After upgrading to version 7.5 and logging into CQG, select More → Order Ticker.

  • A title at the top of the window indicates the contract, order quantity, and trade volume threshold.
  • The price scale appears at the right side of the window.
  • The current size of bids and offers appears right of the price scale.
  • Real-time order updates to the DOM scroll across the window.

Visual cues indicate market activity

  • Order Ticker's background turns gray or black as the inside market changes
  • Order Ticker boundary color changes with the inside market, becoming:
    • Red if the inside market moves down
    • Green if the inside market moves up
  • Executed trades into the best bid or best ask are color highlighted.
